Bratislava and Vienna are a bit further away from Poprad, approximately 4-5 hours by Intercity train: The relevant time-tables are here. The closest main railway station to Stará Lesná is in the city of Poprad from where you can take a local train to the "Tatranská Lomnica, zastávka" stop. Please watch out as you may have to change local trains at the "Studený Potok" stop. Alternatively, you may take a tram at Poprad to the "Stará Lesná" stop. In this case, you may have to change a tram at the "Starý Smokovec" stop. The "Tatranská Lomnica, zastávka" train stop is approximately 1,200 m away to the east from Hotel Academia, a walking distance. The "Stará Lesná" tram stop is about the same distance away to the north. Note the main Poprad railway station is officially called "Poprad-Tatry".

There are regular buses from Poprad to Tatranská Lomnica that stop close to Hotel Academia. The nearest bus-stop to Hotel Academia (approximately 400 m away) is named Stará Lesná, rekr.stred.VŠE. There is a more frequent bus connection at the "Stará Lesná rázcestie" bus stop, a different bus stop approximately 1,200 m away from Hotel Academia.
